NZ Grown Hemp Hearts 180g
Hemp Hearts
Spray free NZ grown hemp hearts (hulled hempseeds) are a nutritional super food, offering a sustainable and renewable source of highly digestible protein.
Our body fashions proteins from twenty or so amino acids. Hemp hearts have all twenty including the nine essential amino acids (our bodies can’t make these so we must find them in our diet) making them a complete or “high quality” protein.
Gone is the need to 'combine' plant sources to get your full compliment of the 9 essential amino acids.
Essential nutritional requirements:
Our bodies don’t store amino acids, so we need a near daily supply of protein. Most adults need only around 50 grams of protein per day.
Though animal sources are a very concentrated way to get protein, it's very easy to meet all of your protein needs through plant sources.
Plus hemp hearts contain:
- The essential fatty acids omega 6 and omega 3.
- And a variety of vitamins and minerals, including Vit C, Niacin, Calcium, Iron, and Magnesium.
Hemp proteins contain a high amount of arginine (94-128mg/g protein) relative to other food proteins including whole wheat (48mg/g protein).
Arginine serves as a dietary precursor for the formation of nitric oxide, a potent mediator of vascular tone and may have implications for the health of the cardiovascular system.
Additionally, arginine or nitric oxide specifically, has been linked to optimal functioning of the immune system and to muscular repair.
